When my younger boy went to daycare as a toddler at two, the nanny came back to me almost screaming “I don’t understand what he is talking about, he goes on and on. The only thing is, he gets the other children to put all the toys away before sitting down to lunch.” She was frustrated but happy. My child had never actively heard French but it didn’t matter. Children communicate without a problem. Yes we live in France
When his aunt had come from Russia to help me with both of the children, neither of them had a problem communicating. She didn’t always understand what they said, but they did. Their father is Russian and has only spoken Russian to them. I am American and have only spoken English.
How have they done it?
